Stargazy Pi
.. a Planetarium on Raspberry Pi
I never did succeed in coaxing my early Raspberry Pi into compiling and running Stellarium, but the Raspberry Pi 2 works, albeit sluggishly:
sudo apt-get install stellarium
If using an older Pi, instead, there's a usable planetarium for use on those clear starry summer nights:
sudo apt-get install kstars
if you want a desktop icon, then:
cp /usr/share/applications/kde4/kstars.desktop /home/pi/Desktop
See http://edu.kde.org/kstars/ for information about kstars.
